Meghalaya minister Ampareen Lyngdoh attacked at home, stones thrown at her house, accused arrested

Meghalaya Health Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh was attacked by a man carrying a machete (a huge khasi knife) at her home on Tuesday around 7.30pm.


“I am a little shaken, but it’s okay I will get over it. Now I know that there are likely some people who will do anything to even harm me. But I appeal to people who love me don’t think that this is something that I am intermediated by. I am not afraid and I will continue to work hard and speak and be the voice of the people of Meghalaya,” said Minister Lyngdoh after the attack. Stones were pelted and window panes shattered of her residence in Laitumkhrah as the minister and her family came under attack.
