Meghalaya Human Rights Commission urges people to contact them for redressal

Meghalaya Human Rights Commission Chairperson, Justice T. Vaiphei said that the Commission can act if there is a public element involved in the matter

Meghalaya Human Rights Commission Chairperson, Justice T. Vaiphei has more and more people to come forward and approach the Commission for redressal on issues such as improper implementation of government projects. Justice T. Vaiphei stated that the scope of the Commission gets limited when a matter is between private individuals. He added the Commission can act if there is a public element involved in the matter. He added that while cases of human rights violation come to the fore from time to time, many people are not coming forward to file a case before the Meghalaya Human Rights Commission.
