The Meghalaya Urban Affairs Department has identified the existing Shillong Municipal Board or SMB Quarters as the location to relocate the 342 families from the Harijan Colony.

This was informed by Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong.

Tynsong further informed that a rough roadmap has been given by the Urban Affairs Department of these units at the quarter which needs to be reconstructed.

He has advised the department to come up with a detailed project report of the unit which can accommodate all the families in the same area itself.
