Meghalaya Govt signs MoU with Varun beverages to setup PepciCo bottling unit in the state

CM Conrad Sangma said that the state government has introduced various policies and initiatives to promote Meghalaya as an investment destination

Meghalaya government on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Varun Beverages to setup a PepsiCo bottling unit at Mendipathar in North Garo Hills.

Varun Beverages is a company which manufactures, distributes, and sells a broad variety of carbonated soft drinks (CSDs) and non-carbonated beverages (NCBs), such as packaged drinking water marketed under PepsiCo brands.

Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said that the state government has introduced various policies and initiatives to facilitate businesses in the state and to promote Meghalaya as an investment destination.

He said that the government will soon roll out Meghalaya Industrial and Investment Promotion Policy, IT & ITES Promotion Policy, Meghalaya Power Policy, etc to further the growth of our State.

“In our endeavour to promote Meghalaya as an investment destination, we have curated different policies and interventions for ease of doing business. As part of this, we have roll out Meghalaya Industrial and Investment Promotion Policy, IT & ITES Promotion Policy, Meghalaya Power Policy, etc to further the growth of our State. We have a vision to take Meghalaya forward and to realise our goals, we have envisioned a 10 billion US dollar economy and all our interventions are linked to drive our State to the next level. Delighted to announce that Meghalaya Govt has signed an MoU with Varun Beverages (Pepsi Co) to setup the bottling unit at Mendipathar in North Garo Hills,” CM Sangma posted on X.
