Meghalaya government has submitted a proposal to the Ministry of Road Transport to consider sanctioning of more highway projects in the state.

Deputy Chief Minister, Prestone Tynsong, said that the state government is focused on new projects and have submitted a proposal for the creation of three highways.

Not divulging much detail, he said that the state has proposed the first highway from Umtyngar to Shella, the second from Umsning in Ri Bhoi up to Jagiroad and the third from Jaintia hills to Garam Pani.

He also informed that the state government will take it up again with the Union Minister of Road Transport in a review meeting.
