Meghalaya Govt mulling steps to solve shortage of specialist doctors in state

Health Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh said that the doctors will be equipped and have sufficient exposure to training by taking up these short-term courses

Meghalaya Health Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh today said that the state government is exploring the option of facilitating government doctors to take up short-term courses to address the shortage of specialist doctors.

While speaking to reporters after the reviewing Human Resources status in the Health Department, Lyngdoh said that the doctors will be equipped and have sufficient exposure to training by taking up these short-term courses.

Meanwhile, she also highlighted that the government is looking at the possibilities to help the surplus nurses for gainful employment outside the state.
