According to Prestone Tynsong, miscreants are trying to create law and order situation.
Incumbent Meghalaya deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong today made a significant statement in terms of forming the next government. According to Tynsonng a few NGOs are trying to influence the process of government formation.
Tynsonng said, “There are few NGOs like HITO and HYC, seems they linked themselves or I should say it seems they are political wings of some political parties, they go to places in the Khasi Jaintia. They talk openly and tell people who should vote for this party or that party. So, I think that NGOs are not supposed to involve in the political process.”
According to Prestone Tynsong, miscreants are trying to create law and order situation.
He said, “So, the message therefore is very clear, we will not allow such criminal activities to happen in the entire state of Meghalaya. Just because of 1 party or 1 individual MLA wanted to join to any political party for forming the government. I think, this is against the Constitution and against the rights of the people.”
Tynsong also highlighted about the agenda of the “NGOs.” In this context he said,”They want Chief Minister from the Khasi Jaintia hills in the state. Well, it seems that was their agenda; I think. Let us see the fractured mandate, here in Khasi Jaintia (Hills). We, have how many parties? We need to know that. And than some parties they got 2 seats, again some party got 5, or 4. I don’t think that is the way of thinking.
In a clear message, Prestone Tynsong said,”But we are the single largest. The NPP got 26. So why dont You respect the decision taken by the elected representatives of the party. Becasue we already elected Conrad Sangma to be the next Chief Minister.”
