Meghalaya: DoNER sanctions Rs 126.94 crore for construction of IT Park

CM Sangma has been propagating the establishment of IT Parks across the State.
The Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) on Saturday sanctioned a significant amount of Rs 126.94 crore under the Prime Minister’s Development Initiative for North East Region (PM-DevINE) scheme for the construction of an Information Technology (IT) Park in Meghalaya’s Tura.
Taking to X, Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma said, “Happy to announce that @MDoNER_India has sanctioned ₹126.94 Crore for the construction of an IT Park at Tura under the PM-DevINE Scheme. Our gratitude to Hon’ble PM Sh. @narendramodi ji, Hon’ble Union Minister for DoNER, Sh. @kishanreddybjp ji and GoI.”
This financial support aims to address connectivity deficits, and social sector gaps, and to boost livelihood and employment opportunities across the state.
CM Sangma has been propagating the establishment of IT Parks across the State.
Earlier, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma on February 2 inaugurated the ‘Shillong Technology Park’ in presence of State Information Technology and Communication Minister Hamletson Dohling and PHE Minister Renikton Lyngdoh.
Conrad said that the Shillong Technology Park will provide a golden opportunity to IT professionals of Meghalaya from across the world to contribute back to their home State.
He also stated that in the next 10 years, Meghalaya should be among the top 10 States of India.
