Chief Minister and NPP chief Conrad Sangma today said that his party will seek the support of its coalition partner for the South Tura bypolls.
Talking to newsmen, Sangma who will be contesting from the prestigious seat said that as a political party each one is an individual entity, but the NPP will urge their coalition partners to support them.
Informing that he will be leaving for Tura today the Chief Minister said that a party meeting to discuss on the by-poll is scheduled for either today evening or tomorrow morning which will be attended by leaders from the area as well as the constituencies.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma today said that while the law and order situation is under control in the city, but the environment still remain tense.
Sangma also said that the law and order situation is under control but still not fully normal and the government is keeping a close watch on things. He further appealed everyone to maintain peace.
Talking about the High Level Committee, Sangma said that efforts and work are on and the committee is looking into the issue of relocation of Sweepers’ Colony as it is a complicated issue with many aspects need to be looked into.
To a question on the sponsored unrest, Sangma said that law will take its own course while pointing out that of the many detained during the unrest many have been out on bail as they were found not to be involved.
