Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma who will be contesting from the South Tura seat is yet to launch an all out campaign.
Talking to media a day after the announcement of the by poll dates, Sangma said that currently minor meetings are being held as he has to fulfill his responsibilities as the Chief Minister at the same time.
He however said that the block committee of the NPP are on the job and working hard.
On the support extended to his candidature by many of the coalition partners, Sangma expressed happiness and maintained that the decision of any party of the MDA coalition to put up candidate should also be respected as each and every political party has their own challenges to face.
The much awaited by-poll to South Tura Assembly constituency, where Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma will contest to make his entry into the state legislature, will be held on August 23.
The by-poll has been necessitated following the resignation of sitting MLA Agatha K Sangma on July 2.
