Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma called on Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Tuesday and requested for additional telecom towers to be set up under the Universal Service Obligation Fund
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma called on Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Tuesday and requested for additional telecom towers to be set up under the Universal Service Obligation Fund in remote areas of the State.
The Chief Minister also emphasized that the implementation of the project in hilly states like Meghalaya with terrain constraints will require special considerations.
“Met with Hon’ble Union IT Minister, Sh. @AshwiniVaishnawJi to request for additional towers to be set up under USOF project in remote areas of the State. The implementation of the project in hilly states like Meghalaya with terrain constraints will require special considerations,” Sangma tweeted.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also thanked the Union Minister for listening to the issues and agreeing to look into the matter.
