Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma today attended the Meghalaya State Ex-Servicemen’s Rally held at the Assam Regimental Centre in Shillong’s Happy Valley area.

During his address, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma lauded the contributions of the veterans and soldiers of Meghalaya and the North-East who have contributed towards the security and prosperity of the country.

Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, stating that his government is committed towards ensuring maximum support and benefit to the Ex-servicemen, briefed him about several initiatives taken by the government of Meghalaya for the welfare of ex-servicemen and their families.

The Chief Minister further informed that sufficient space will be provided for the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme, or ECHS, Polyclinic in Tura, apart from sanctioning 4 crores for the construction of the Sainik Welfare Guest House.

Meanwhile, among the dignitaries present at the event today were Meghalaya’s Minister of General Administration Department, Sniawbhalang Dhar, Senior Air Staff Officer of the Eastern Air Command, Air Marshal A P Singh, the Army’s General Officer Commanding of 101 Area, Lieutenent General K C Panchanathan, and Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills District, Isawanda Laloo, among others.
