Meghalaya Cabinet gives nod for setting up Meghalaya Technology Parks, and various other projects

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma today informed that the state cabinet has given nod for setting up the Meghalaya Technology Parks and various other projects–Meghalaya Industrial Investment Policy, and Meghalaya IT/ITeS Promotion Policy, 2024.

CM Sangma said that with a goal to empower Meghalaya’s economic environment to stimulate industrial development, harness local potential, and establish a vibrant business hub to contribute towards the overall holistic progress, the industrial and investment promotion policy will be the new growth accelerator.
Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said that the program is in line with the Government of India’s new industrial policy, allowing incentives to be maximized.
The creation of Technology Parks Society will enable the government to professionally plan, develop, establish, promote, operate and manage the Technology Parks in the state, said CM Sangma.
He said that it will also promote the state as a preferred investment destination for ICT and electronics units in order to generate employment opportunities. The tender for establishment for Tura IT Park has been issued.
Moreover, the Meghalaya IT/IT Enabled Services Promotion Policy 2024 will create an atmosphere that invites investors to the state and creates jobs for the people living there, he added.
