Massive fire in Lake Chowmuhani market in Agartala, property worth crores gutted

A preliminary investigation suggested a short-circuit as the possible cause of the fire, the CM said

A huge fire broke out at Lake Chowmohani Bazar in the capital Agartala on Sunday evening, gutting three shops and a godown and causing damage to goods worth a few crores.
No casualties have been reported so far.
Two grocery shops, a wood log shop, and a godown were totally gutted in the fire, informed Chief Minister Manik Saha, who along with the Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Dipak Majumder visited the site and assured help from the government.
After being informed, police and firefighters rushed to the scene, and three fire tenders doused the blaze.
A preliminary investigation suggested a short-circuit as the possible cause of the fire, the CM said.
He added that the exact cause of the fire would be determined after an investigation into the incident.
