The Manipur People Against Citizenship Amendment Act or the MANPAC has decried the detention of its convenor Yumnamcha Dilip Kumar by the police late Friday night.

According to sources, the MANPAC leader was picked up from his residence in Imphal West for allegedly speaking against the holding of a rally by the BJP scheduled for December 29.

However, Dilip Kumar was released on Monday morning. Talking to newspersons, MANPAC Co-Convenor L Jadumani termed the incident as a violation of democratic rights & suppression of people’s movements.
