An internal Mizoram Police order signed by a (DIG) yesterday said the move has been taken in anticipation of possible tension which could threaten the security of Meiteis living in Aizawl due to the public outrage against the torture of the two women by a mob in Manipur’s Thoubal district, the video of which has since gone viral.

The locations where policemen from the Mizoram Armed Police and IR Battalions are deployed since last night include Mizoram University at Tanhril, Veterinary College at Salesih, RIPANS at Zemabawk and ZMC in Falkawn.
