Manipur : UPF and KNO to resume formal talks with Centre on July 26

AK Mishra, special adviser MHA will hold talks wiht the groups

The United People’s Front (UPF) and the Kuki National Organisation (KNO), which are under the suspension of operations, will resume formal talks with the Centre on July 26.

This will be the first formal meet between the groups and the Centre since May 3.

Even though informal round of discussions have been held on a couple of occasions in the last two and half months, the meet on July 26 will mark resumption of formal talks.

The crucial resumption of talks comes at a time when Manipur is reeling under violence since almost three months now and there has been a growing demnd in the Imphal valley for scrapping of SoO.
