Political parties in Meghalaya on Friday expressed concern over the Manipur University fiasco and while few felt that the Centre’s immediate intervention is required.
The state BJP expressed confidence that the Manipur Government and the Centre will find a solution soon.
However, the NPP which is also a part of the government in Manipur wants the Centre to immediately intervene into the matter as it concerns the future of the students.
NPP’s Meghalaya president WR Kharlukhi told Northeast Live that finding an amicable solution to the issue is the need of the hour.
Meanwhile, state BJP General Secretary, Bashai Khongwir said that they are aware of the issue and are certain that the Manipur government and the Centre will resolve it soon.
People’s Democratic Front (PDF) leader and Urban Affairs Minister Hamlet Dohling felt that the issue should be resolved at the earliest and it’s about time that the Centre took it up in the right earnest.
