One fresh COVID-19 positive case was reported in Manipur on Saturday, taking the total number of coronavirus cases in the state to 60.

With this, the number of active cases in the state has reached 53. The fresh case is a 19-year-old girl who hails from Kanglatongbi in Imphal West district.

The patient is a returnee from Gujarat and her sample was tested at the VRDL in RIMS where it tested positive for COVID-19. The patient has been shifted to the Covid care facility at RIMS where her condition is stated to be stable.

Manipur’s COVID-19 common control room in a press release mentioned that the 60th case of COVID-19 was confirmed at the VRDL (Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory) of RIMS (Regional Institute of Medical Sciences).

Stating that she will be shifted at the Covid care facility at RIMS, the release said that her condition is stable.

All preventive and control measures likes containment and contact tracing are now in place, the release added.

Earlier, 4 persons were tested positive for the deadly virus. So far, seven patients have been discharged in the state after full recovery.
