Manipur Police seize 3 arms and 52 rounds of ammunition; 1101 detained for violations

A total of 125 Nakas or Checkpoints were installed in different districts of the state
Relentless search operation for stolen arms and ammunition continues in Manipur. Police have recovered as many as 3 arms and 52 ammunitions in the last 24 hours.
Search operations were conducted by security forces in fringe and vulnerable areas of Imphal-West, Imphal East, Bishnupur and Thoubal districts.
A total of 125 Nakas or Checkpoints were installed in different Districts of the state, both in the hill and the valley.
Police have detained 1101 persons in connection with violations in different districts of the State so far.
On August 14, Assam Rifles seized a huge cache of arms and ammunition in Manipur. The cache of arms and ammunition includes 3 carbine machine guns, 1 double barrel gun, 3 magazines of carbine gun and 5 rounds of DBBL ammunition.
On August 9, a team of Manipur police, in a joint operation with Patsoi police, CDO-IW, New Keithelmanbi PS, Kangpokpi District, along with teams of 33 AR Keithelmanbi (9-sector), conducted cordon and search operations in and around Keithelmanbi and Aithu village, under New Keithelmanbi PS in Kangpokpi.
During the search operation, the police recovered single-bore rifles (5), single-bore rifles (5), country-made weapons (modified GI pipe), four single-bore live rounds (36), a walkie-talkie along with a charger (1), and mobile phones (5).
