Manipur’s Saikul MLA Kimneo Haokip Hangshing, the youngest legislator in the state, is continuing with her endeavours to reach out to the hundreds of people still living in relief camps.

With the chilly winters approaching, the MLA along with InSIDE North East, a not-for-profit NGO distributed mattresses and blankets to more than 200 Internally Displaced Persons at the campus of InSIDE North East at Thangkanphai village.

The MLA interacted with the people who shared their grievances with her. The MLA assured to address them in her capacity.

While sharing their pain and suffering, the MLA motivated the displaced people to stay strong and help one another in these trying times.

The Founding Director of InSIDE North East, Hejang Misao said that ever since the eruption of the conflict, InSIDE North East left has been doing its best to mitigate the suffering of those rendered homeless.

He also said that the NGO has extended monetary help, ‘Seed Money’ to some of the Internally Displaced Persons so that they could somehow generate small income by initiating a small business while they are staying at the relief camps.

As the Founding Director of InSIDE North East, Misao assured to continue doing humanitarian service in collaboration with MLA Kimneo Haokip Hangshing and other local civil society organisations.

“It is high time to come back to our senses. This fighting will never give any good to both communities. We must come back to our senses and live a life of normalcy so that we can also live a life of peace. Unless we do that both communities will be the losers”, Misao said.
