The High Court of Manipur has nullified the election of NPF leader Lorho Pfoze to the 17th Lok Sabha from the Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency.

The order was passed today in connection with a petition filed by the BJP candidate from the Outer Manipur parliamentary constituency, Houlim Shokhopao Mate or Benjamin Mate, who had moved the court to declare the election of Lorho Pfoze as null and void due to alleged discrepancies in the filing of an affidavit, among others.

While the election of Pfoze has been declared null and void, Lorho can now move the Supreme Court on the issue after applying for a special leave petition from the Manipur High Court.

If Pfoze fails to move SC on the issue, Benjamin Mateh will qualify as the MP from the outer parliamentary constituency, the counsel for the petitioner said.
