In an unprecedented move the Congress has expelled its candidate for the Wangoi constituency, Salam Joy Singh, just hours before polling for the 1st phase began in Manipur. The ‘Disciplinary Action’ was taken against him for allegedly supporting the BJP Candidate Oinam Lukghoi Singh.
Salam Joy Singh was expelled from the primary membership of the party after reports and viral videos were received by the party.

Reportedly on Sunday videos showing Salam Joy Singh openly supporting his opponent from BJP went viral in social media embarrassing the Congress.
It is a three corner fight in Wangoi with Oinam Lukhoi Singh of BJP, Khuraijam Loken Singh of NPP and Salam Joy Singh as the state votes during the 1st phase of polls including Wangoi.
