Manipur CM N Biren Singh turns 63; heartfelt birthday wishes pour in

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh is celebrating his 63rd birthday today.

Birthday greetings and wishes from all quarters, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Ministers of Northeastern states, Union Ministers and top BJP leaders poured in for CM N Biren Singh on his special occasion.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his warm birthday wishes to Chief Minister N Biren Singh and prayed for his long and healthy life.

“Birthday wishes to Manipur CM Shri @NBirenSingh Ji. Praying for his long and healthy life,” PM Modi wrote on X.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla also wished the Chief Minister of Manipur good health and a long life.

Taking to X, he wrote, “Warm birthday wishes to Chief Minister of Manipur, Shri. N. Biren Singh Ji. Wishing you good health and long life in the service of the people of the state and the Country.”

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also wished him on his special day and prayed that Almighty gives him all the strength and blessings to bring peace and prosperity to Manipur.

“Warm birthday wishes to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Manipur Shri N. Biren Singh Ji. May the Almighty give him all the strength and blessings to bring peace and prosperity to Manipur. Praying to Maa Kamakhya and Mahapurush Srimanata Shankardeva to grant him many more years of service to the nation,” CM Sarma posted on X.

Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio also prayed for his good health and long life on his birthday.
“Birthday greetings to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Manipur, Shri @NBirenSingh. Best wishes for your good health, happiness and a fruitful year ahead,” CM Rio posted on X.

Arunachal Chief Minister Pema Khandu, former Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, Manipur Minister Th.Biswajit Singh, MP S. Phangnon Konyak and other political leaders also extended their hertfelt birthday wishes to Chief Minister N Biren singh.

CM N.Biren Singh was born on January 1, 1961, in Imphal, Manipur.

A former football player who switched into journalism before entering politics, Singh joined the BJP in October 2016. After retaining his seat from Heingang in the 2023 assembly elections, he became the first BJP leader in the state to be a CM twice.

He began his career as a football player and was hired by the Border Security Force (BSF) since he was an athlete. He then played for the BSF squad in domestic competitions.

He started “Naharolgi Thoudang,” a vernacular daily, in 1992 despite having no prior experience, and served as its editor until 2001 before entering politics in 2002.

Later, he joined Congress, held onto his position through 2007, and continued to serve as a minister till 2012.

He joined the BJP four years later, and in 2017, he was re-elected from the same assembly district and became the head of the party’s first administration since that year.
