A pall of gloom descended at the JNIMS mortuary as bodies of deceased in the school bus tragedy were handed over to their family members. It was indeed an heart wrenching moment as kin of those who lost their lives (mostly students), claimed the lifeless bodies, and mourned the unexpected demise of their loved ones.
Ambulances were seen lined up outside the JNIMS mogue for the bodies to be taken to respective residences of the students.
As per available inputs, the bodies will be taken to the Thambanu Higher Secondary School where the school staff as well as the students will pay their last respects.
RMO In-charge of Raj Medicity Hospital informed Northeast Live correspondent, that altogether 32 patients were admitted to the hospital out of which 2 succumbed. At present, out of the 30 undergoing treatment, 4 patients were stated to be in critical condition and put on ventilator support.
Meanwhile, the full staff of the hospital got engaged in rendering emergency services to the victims, at a time when the patients were rushed in serious conditions. However, with the efforts of the hospital authorities, the challenge could be overcomed.
It was a sad Wednesday morning for Manipur. Just when the day began, news of a tragic bus accident came in. A bus carrying strudents and teachers of the Thambalnu Higher Secondary School enroute Leimatak, lost control and turned turtle leading to the death of 5 students on the spot, leaving scores of others injured. Meanwhile, as per latest inputs the death toll has mounted to 9.
At least 8 young girls were killed and 26 others including teachers of Thambalnu Higher Secondary School were injured in the horrific accident that took place when on way to Leimatak, a
popular tourist spot. The students and teachers were on their way to Leimatak on excursion.
