Manipur Burns: MLAs, Ministers to Resign

Imphal city has turned into a war zone with angry people vandalising and setting on fire residences, cars and other properties

Amid the massive escalation in violence in the capital city of Imphal in Manipur, several MLAs and Ministers are expected to resign.

As per reports coming in, three MLAs – T. Robindro, Thanga MLA, Th. Radheshyam, Heirok MLA and Paonam Brojen, Wangjing MLA are likely to resign tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Imphal city has turned into a war zone with angry people vandalising and setting on fire residences, cars and other properties belonging to MLAs and Ministers of the state.

So far the houses and properties of the following MLAs and Ministers have either been vandalised, burnt or ransacked.

  1. RK Imo Singh. He is the son-in-law of Chief Minister N Biren Singh and MLA of Sagolband.
  2. Dr. Sapam Ranjan, Minister Health and Public Relations. He is MLA of Konthoujam
  3. Nishikant Sapam is the MLA of Keishamthong
  4. Thangjam Arun Kumar is the MLA of Wangkhei
  5. Sapam Kunjakeshor MLA of Patsoi
  6. K H Raghumani, MLA of Uripok

Internet has been suspended for two days starting today in entire Imphal Valley – Imphal East and West, Thoubal, Bishnupur and Kakching and in the hill districts of Churanchdpur and Kangpokpi.

Imphal was under siege this morning after bodies of the 3 children aged 10-month, 2 and half year and 8 years, and three women aged 60 years, 31 years and 25 years was found late last night and early today morning dumped in gunny bags after they were abducted on November 11 from Jiribam.
