Manipur: 3 KCP(PWG) cadres arrested with arms, ammunition and other valuables

Manipur Police have arrested as many as three active cadres of the proscribed KCP (PWG) involved in the extortion of money from the general public and government officials and recovered a huge cache of arms, ammunition and other valuables from their possession.

Based on inputs, search operations were conducted by security forces in the fringe and vulnerable areas of hill and valley districts on Tuesday.

During the operations, police arrested the three cadres of KCP (PWG) along with one 9mm pistol with four live rounds, one demand letter of KCP(PWG), three mobile phones, Rs 5,820 in cash and 2 two-wheeler vehicles from Bishnupur district.

A case has been registered in this regard and investigation is underway.

Taking to Twitter, Manipur Police wrote, “On 06.02.2024, Manipur Police arrested 03 (three) active cadres of KCP(PWG) from Bishnupur District who were involved in extortion of money from the general public and government officials. From their possession, 01 (one) 9mm pistol with 04 (four) live rounds, 01 (one) demand letter of KCP(PWG), 03 (three) mobile phones, Rs 5820/- (Five Thousand Eight Hundred and Twenty) in cash, 02 (two) Two-wheeler vehicles were also recovered. A case has been registered in this regard and investigation is ongoing.”
