Man murdered in Seijosa; Patanjali in the dock

Project director of Patanjali Ayurveda Private Limited Srikant Rai along with two other officials have been taken into police custody in Seijosa jail in connection with their involvement in the sensational Seijosa murder case.

It has come to light that the portion of land where the company office is operational has been illegally acquired by the consumer goods company.

According to reports, Patanjali Ayurveda has acquired the land without proper LPC lease for a period of 99 years. The site was built by the government as a tourist lodge and is now being used by Patanjali Ayurveda.

Moreover, even after the intervention of the ADC of Seijosa TR Topu, none of the Patanjali officials have responded with any inputs on the murder which was followed by an economic blockade in Seijosa and Balijuri in Assam area demanding justice for the late Amar Bahadur Sonar.

Sonar, a Gorkha from Assam was murdered by unknown miscreants on the July 16 and the deceased worked as a cook for the director of Patanjali Ayurveda Srikant Rai who was today taken into custody for alleged involvement in the scam.

The All Assam Gorkha students vandalised the official vehicle of Patanjali Director Srikant Rai after the company failed to fulfill the demand of a cash compensation of Rs 50 lakh and also a job for a family member of the deceased who left behind four sons and a wife.

Meanwhile, the All Assam Students Union and the Seijosa Area students union today went to pay their last respects to late Amar Bahadur Sonar. The all Assam Gorkha students union as well as the all Assam students Union are holding Patanjali responsible for the incident and have strongly demanded compensation for the loss.
