Lok Sabha polls-Tripura: Over 14.63 lakh voters eligible to cast votes for elections to Tripura West seat

The total number of voters are 14,63,526 out of which 7,34,133 are male voters and 7, 29, 337 are female voters.
Over 14 lakh voters will take part in the parliamentary elections for the Tripura West Lok Sabha constituency which goes to polls tomorrow.
The total number of voters are 14,63,526 out of which 7,34,133 are male voters and 7, 29, 337 are female voters. Polling will be held in 1686 polling centres for the West Tripura parliamentary constituency.
There are 30 Assembly Constituencies under the West Tripura parliamentary constituency.
84 companies of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) have been deployed for the smooth conduct of the elections.
Former CM Biplab Kumar Deb is the BJP candidate from the Tripura West constituency. The former Tripura Chief Minister and sitting Rajya Sabha MP is being backed by IPFT and Tipra Motha.
Ashish Kumar Saha is the Congress candidate. He is backed by the CPIM. SUCI’s Arun Kumar Bhaumik is also in the fray.
BJP dropped its sitting MP Pratima Bhowmik and fielded Biplab Deb.
In 2019, Pratima Bhoumik polled – 5,73,532 votes and won the seat beating Congress’s Subal Bhowmik who polled 2,67,843 votes.
CPI (M)’s Sankar Prasad Datta came third with 1,71,826 votes.
