Lhari Dorjee Lhatoo takes charge as IG of ITBP’s North-West Frontier

Lhari Dorjee Lhatoo, an IPS officer of Manipur 1999-batch, took charge as Inspector General of North-West Frontier of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) on Saturday.
He will head all units, battalions of the ITBP in Ladakh and posts deployed close to Line of Actual Control (LAC).
Earlier, Lhatoo served at various key positions in several organisations, including the National Investigation Agency (NIA), the Central Counter-Terrorism Law Enforcement Agency of India, and the Special Protection Group (SPG) that provides security cover to the Prime Minister.
Lhatoo will be succeeding ITBP Inspector General (IG) Deepam Seth, who was commanding the force troops deployed along the LAC with China in Ladakh.
Seth, a 1995 batch IPS officer, who was previously heading the same frontier has been transferred to Delhi at IG Headquarters.
