A leopard has been captured by the forest department in Sibsagar district of Assam. The leopard was trapped with assistance from local people at Demow Athbari area where it had been terrorising the locals for sometime now.

On the other hand, people in Dibrugarh’s Dhemesi village continue to face menace from three leopards that have been roaming freely in the vicinity with domestic animals being the main target of the big cats.

The leopards struck last night taking down a farm bull in the neighbourhood. Local people have been demanding for arrangement to capture the leopards, but so far there has been no response from the forest department.
