In a shocking and shameful incident, a mob was caught on camera dragging an injured leopard cub by its tail in Assam’s Mariani.

It is learnt that the forest department officials had announced a cash prize for individuals who could catch the leopard. Subsequently, a group of people dragged the helpless animal a considerable distance by its tail, further injuring it.

Although forest officials and police personnel were on the spot, they could not intervene and stood as mute spectators.

Meanwhile, animal NGOs have strongly condemned the incident and the apathy of forest officials and the people involved in it.
