H. Lalthianghlima also voiced his concerns about the infrastructure and facilities at the NIT
Reported by Dally Fanai
Mizo Zirlai Pawl (MZP) President H. Lalthianghlima on Wednesday pointed a finger at the functioning of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Mizoram and alleged that proper procedures were not followed while hiring staff for the premier Institute.
When questions were raised through RTI, a proper response was not given, Lalthianghlima said stating that this showed the inefficiency of the Institute’s administration.
The President further expressed his displeasure over the fact that even after 11 years of foundation stone being laid for a permanent campus of National Institute of Technology (NIT) Mizoram, the Institute does not have a permanent campus.
The foundation stone for the campus was laid by the then Minister for Human Resource Development Kapil Sibal on October 2012.
H. Lalthianghlima also voiced his concerns about the poor infrastructure and facilities at the NIT and said that inadequate resources have been hindering the academic experience of students.
The National Institute of Technology Mizoram currently has the following programmes- Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics and Humanities and Social Science.
