The agitation of the 2015 batch of the All Nagaland Ad hoc Teachers Group outside the Directorate of School Education in Kohima entered its second day today.

Holding a banner which read “Give us our legitimate rights; justice delayed is justice denied”, the ad hoc teachers numbering 1166 who had cleared their suitability test on May 20, 2017 carried on with their phase IV agitation demanding regularization of their services.

The ANATG announced that it was mandatory for all its members to attend the protest. In fact, some of the aggrieved teachers took part in the agitation even with their babies with them.

The indefinite agitation would reportedly continue till the government breaks its silence on the matter and fulfills their demand. It is worth mentioning here that the Ad Hoc teachers have been working for the last 6 to 7 years for a meager salary of Rs 6700 for primary teachers and Rs 8400 for graduate teachers.

Also, the ANATG have already submitted several representations, memorandum and ultimatums to the government on this issue, but justice reportedly has been denied so far.
