Kitam Ground in Sikkim’s Namchi to be transformed into world-class cricket stadium: CM Tamang

Sikkim government will develop the Kitam Ground in Namchi district as a world-class cricket stadium, Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang said yesterday while addressing a public meeting in Namchi.

CM Tamang said that international as well as domestic cricket matches will be played at the stadium.

“We have taken a decision to develop Kitam Ground under Melli Constituency as a world-class cricket stadium under the guidance of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI),” he Chief Minister Tamang.

The state will have three more cricket stadiums — Yangang Ground and Mining Ground in Rangpo and the Kitam Ground in Namchi, all of which will be operated by the BCCI, said CM Tamang.
