The protest against the killing of a 51 year old man in Arunachal Pradesh’s Tirap district during an encounter between security forces and Suspected NSCN militants has now spread over to other districts in the state.
Last evening a candlelight procession was taken out in Changlang town during which people from all walks of life participated, carrying placards, banners and candles. Protesters raised slogans against killing of innocents in the state while demanding justice for the victim’s family and to halt all forms of insurgent-related activities.
Meanwhile, the All Tutsa Students Union which had staged a massive protest rally in Khonsa on Monday along with The Tirap District Students Union said that it will continue with its agitations until justice is delivered.
Meanwhile the Wancho Students Union too has heavily condemned the killing of innocents in the Tirap – Changlang – Longding belt and demanded justice for the bereaved family.
It needs to be mentioned here that the Tirap District Administration has already started an inquiry into the killings.
