Kalki 2898 AD starring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Kamal Haasan has released worldwide on June 27.

Director Nag Ashwin’s sci-fi drama, Kalki 2898 AD, that hit the theatres worldwide today, has already done a business of Rs 55 crore in advance booking.

The Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Kamal Haasan starrer movie made a box office collection of Rs 32 crore in the first few hours of its release.

As per industry tracker Sacnilk, the film is expected to gross over Rs 200 crore worldwide in a day and Rs 500 cr in the first weekend. If the film manages to achieve that, it would be a record for 2024, and will be another big opener for Prabhas. In India, the film is projected to bring in Rs 120-140 crore on opening day. No other film has managed to do that in 2024 yet.

If the film manages to earn over Rs 200 crore mark on its opening day, it will become the third-biggest Indian opener worldwide.

Currently, the top spot is held by SS Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’ (Rs 223 crore). It is followed by filmmaker’s ‘Baahubali 2’ (217 crore).

The film’s story is a mix of Hindu mythology set in a dystopian world where a select few are on the mission to save the unborn child of Deepika Padukone’s character. The unborn child is said to be Kalki, the avatar of Lord Vishnu.

Produced by Vyjayanthi Movies, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is produced on a massive budget of Rs 600 crore, thus making it India’s most expensive film.
