HSPDP president KP Pangniang has stated that MLA Kimfa Marbanaing’s recent comments on the Assam-Meghalaya border issue are misleading.
Rambrai-Jyrngam MLA Kimfa Marbaniang had recently stated that the process of resolving the interstate border row between both states had been done in a hurry and that it would adversely affect Meghalaya in the long run.
Stating that it is a very sensitive issue and such a statement can create a lot of confusion, Pangniang urged people, especially the border residents, not to be misled by the MLA’s remark, stating that everything was done in a very effective manner by taking all stakeholders into confidence.

Pointing out that the MLA himself is a member of the committee, the HSPDP president said that they had held several meetings and inspections before forming the report.
Pangniang further said if the MLA felt things were being done hastily, he should have raised the issue with the chairman or the members of the committee back then.
