Coming back from a loss at home, Boot Jolokia Boys, Northeast United FC are all set to face Bengaluru FC again, this time at home.

The Highlanders will be playing against the Blues behind closed doors at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium, Sarusajai in Guwahati on Wednesday. The match has been preponed to 6 pm tomorrow as against the earlier 7 pm schedule keeping in view the current situation in Guwahati.

With the recent protests in Guwahati against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, the Football Sports Development Limited has decided to play behind closed doors after due consultation and guidance from the city authorities.

Addressing the media today ahead of the match, Highlander Head Coach Robert Jarni said, although the absence of spectators and fan support from the home destination will be a dampener for the game, the boys are in good shape and well prepared for the match.

Bengaluru comes into this match after a 3-2 lost to Mumbai city, while the Boot Jolokia boys returns after a postponed home match against Chennaiyin FC, the Blues are 3rd on the league points table while the Highlanders are placed 5th.

However, in a big set back for the Highlanders, Star forward Asamoah Gyan will miss the match tomorrow, after he injured his hamstring in the home game against ATK.

The last match between Northeast and Bengaluru ended in a stalemate, it remains to be seen what results a rematch behind closed doors will deliver tomorrow.
