Rajasthan Royals star batsman Riyan Parag from Assam smashed a 26-ball 42 not out in the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (Sunrisers Hyderabad, SRH) and teamed up with Rahul Tewatia.

After registering four consecutive losses in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League, Rajasthan Royals produced a stunning run chase on Sunday against Sunrisers Hyderabad, beating them by 5 wickets and a delivery to spare.

Riyan led the team to victory with sixes in 19.5 overs and celebrated it by dancing Bihu on the field.

The 18-year-old Assamese boy’s celebratory jig in the form of Bihu dance on the pitch after he hit Khaleel Ahmed for a six over covers on the penultimate ball, making the night memorable for his team. The dance video of Riyan Parag has become the talk of the town.

Speaking candidly after the match, Riyan Parag admitted that he was indeed under pressure due to his underwhelming performance in the previous matches. Parag also spoke about his Bihu dance that has gotten everyone talking.

Back in Assam, Riyan Parag’s father Parag Das also expressed happiness over his son’s match-winning performance.

With Rajasthan Royals finally breaking their four-match losing streak thanks to Riyan Parag’s match-winning exploits, here’s hoping the local lad produces more such swashbuckling performances in the days to come.
