Indian Women’s Archery Team Qualifies For Quarterfinals Of Paris Olympics 2024

India's best performer from the women's archery team Ankita finished in the 11th spot with a score of 666 and she was the best among three in the team.

The Indian women’s archery team qualified for the quarterfinals of the event at the Paris Olympics by securing a fourth-place finish with 1983 points.

The team comprising Bhajan Kaur, Deepika Kumari and Ankita Bhakat secured direct qualification to the quarterfinals of the women’s archery team event as the trio finished 4th in the ranking round event today, reported India Today.

Korea, China, and Mexico ranked 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, respectively.

India women’s archery team will next face the winner of France vs. Netherlands match in the quarterfinals of the Women’s Team event on July 28. Medals will be decided on the same day. If India manages to advance past the quarterfinals, they will face powerhouse South Korea in the semifinals, reported ABP Live.

India’s best performer from the women’s archery team Ankita finished in the 11th spot with a score of 666 and she was the best among three in the team. Veteran Deepika ended at 23rd place with 658 points while Bhajan Kaur finished just above her at 22nd with a score of 659, reported India TV.

The Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony will be held tomorrow from 11 PM IST onwards.

Sport climbing, breaking, skateboarding, surfing, and the other 28 “core” Olympic sports will be among the 32 disciplines featured at the event.

An Indian contingent of 117 athletes (70 males and 47 females) will compete in 69 medal events across 16 sports – Archery, athletics, badminton, boxing, equestrian, golf, hockey, judo, rowing, sailing, shooting, swimming, table tennis and tennis.
