Indian Navy Motor Bike Team ‘Sea Riders’ conducts bike rally across 7 NE States

The Indian Navy Motor Bike team, ‘The Sea Riders, in partnership with Royal Enfield, on a motorcycle expedition across the seven NE states from Nov 25- Dec 14

The Indian Navy Motor Bike team, ‘The Sea Riders, in partnership with Royal Enfield, the world’s oldest motorcycle brand and in production since 1901 has embarked on an epic motorcycle expedition, as part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Celebrations’, commemorating the 75th year of independence, across the seven states of North East India from 25 November to 14 December 2022.

The Bike Rally is conducted in two phases over a period of 24 days and would cover a distance of 3500 Kms. Phase I of the bike rally traversing the states of Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, Mizoram, Manipur and Nagaland will culminate at Kohima, Nagaland & would be flagged in by Admiral R Hari Kumar, the Chief of the Naval Staff.

Notably, during the 13 days of Phase I of the expedition, the fifteen Sea Riders, on Royal Enfield Meteor 350 cc bikes, passed through the capital cities of Guwahati, Shillong, Aizawl, Imphal, Kohima riding through high Altitude Sela & BumLa Passes and covered a distance of approx. 2000 kms.

Meanwhile, the sea riders, led by Capt Sumeet Puri, interacted with students at various schools and introduced the spirit of adventure whilst making them aware about the Indian Navy. They also interacted with local district administration staff, ex Servicemen as well as children at various locations.
It is to be mentioned that the team was supported by Assam Rifles personnel all across the route. Assam Rifles also provided all the necessary Administrative and Logistic support to the Sea Riders.
