Assam Health and Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has appealed to the ULFA-Independent to release the two employees of Quippo Oil and Gas Infrastructure Limited, who were kidnapped over a month ago.
In his appeal to the ULFA-Independent chief, Sarma said that the two kidnapped persons are small-time employees of the oil firm and keeping them captive will not benefit anyone.
“I request the ULFA-I to release Ram Kumar and Pranab Kumar Gogoi of Quippo Oil company. They are small-time employees and holding them captive will not benefit anyone,” said Himanta Biswa Sarma while speaking to mediapersons on the occasion of Me-Dam-Me-Phi on Sunday.
The ULFA (I) had abducted two employees of Quippo Oil firm – Bihar-based radio operator Ram Kumar and drilling superintendent Pranab Kumar Gogoi of Sivasagar in Assam from the Kumchaikha hydrocarbon drilling site in Diyun under Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh on December 21, 2020.
