Headmaster of Arunachal Govt School Arrested on Charges of Sexual Offences Against Girl Students

In a shocking incident, a headmaster of a Government School in Arunachal Pradesh has been arrested on charges of repeated sexual offenses against some girl students.

The incident was reported in Gautampur under Diyun Circle in the Changlang district.

As per sources, the accused has been identified as Md Asgar Ali, a headmaster in charge of the PM Shri Government Secondary School. Ali has been accused of sending “inappropriate messages” to the girl students and even inviting them to his quarter in the evening hours.

Moreover, as per the student’s FIR Ali allegedly threatened them with poor marks in their exams and tests upon refusing him. Initially unable to disclose anything owing to severe trauma, some students had even stopped going to school due to the disturbance by the teacher to the young female students, guardians alleged.

Meanwhile, the All Tangsa Students Union has strongly condemned the incident and demanded severe and exemplary punishment for the culprit. A delegation of the Union led by its President Nongcha Langching visited the school campus and took stock of the situation.

Confirming the development, Kirli Padu, SP, Changlang said that Ali had been arrested after a case was registered at Diyun police station under section 75 (III)/79/351(2) of the BNSS and Section 12 of POCSO Act.”

It needs to be mentioned that, 10 days earlier a hostel warden was sentenced to death for sexually abusing 21 children over a period of 8 years.
