The Itanagar Bench of the Gauhati High Court in a landmark judgement declared the Arunachal Pradesh Parliamentary Secretaries Act, 2007 as unconstitutional. After this landmark judgement there will be no parliamentary secretaries in Arunachal Pradesh.

Meanwhile, Government spokesperson Bamang Felix has informed Northeast Live that the Arunachal Pradesh Government has no problem in abolishing the Parliamentary secretaries post, as it from the very long time has been considering of abolishing the posts of Parliamentary Secretaries in the State.
