Guwahati shocker: 5 month old baby physically assaulted by father, lands in hospital

In a shocking incident reported from Guwahati, a five month old baby boy was physically assaulted allegedly by his father resulting in the baby landing in hospital with fractured legs and hand.

Speaking to media persons about the horrific case, Dr Abhijit Sarma, Superintendent of Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) said that according to the mother of the child, the father had a history of physically assaulting the child.
“The child’s two legs had bilateral femur fractures and the right hand had a humerus fracture.
The child’s condition is stable and is under close observation”, Dr Sarma said.

The baby was admitted to the hospital yesterday.

The family is a resident of Guwahati.

More details about why the father hurt the baby boy is still not known.
