A massive fire broke out on Saturday near Jalukbari in Guwahati. More than 50 houses have been gutted in the fire damaging property.

According to sources, the fire broke out in the afternoon in the area adjacent to the Jalukbari flyover due to cylinder explosion. At least 20 cylinders blew up, which led to the fire engulfing several houses within minutes.

Fire tenders arrived at the scene immediately and firemen had to struggle to finally douse the raging fire.

No casualties in the incident have been reported so far.
