The decision of the Kamrup (M) District Administration has infuriated many private-sector bus owners and drivers
Harrowing time starts for the people using city buses in Guwahati as the Kamrup (M) district administration has taken at least 109 city buses off the road in a bid to ease the traffic congestion of the city roads.
This unique way to manage the issue of traffic jams on the busy roads of Guwahati has not gone down well with the city bus operators and drivers. This move is also expected to cause a lot of inconvenience to the commuters.
“We are being harassed. We barely manage our daily bread. How will we handle everything now that we have been left without a job? ” said one driver.
No such instructions have, however, been issued regarding Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) buses.
