Assam: Ground breaking ceremony for construction of East-West corridor’s Nirimbanglo-Harangajao stretch held

Jatinga to Harangajao section of NH-54 in Assam got severely affected by landslides, hill movement, slip failure and sinking
The groundbreaking ceremony to start the construction of the East-West corridor’s Nirimbanglo-Harangajao stretch in Assam’s Dima Hasao was held today.
The 4- lane road from Nrimbanglo – Jatinga Junction – Harangajao section of NH-54 (New NH-27) would be constructed under Bharatmala Pariyojana at ‘S’ turn near N Leikul village in Dima Hasao district.
It may be mentioned that the Jatinga to Harangajao section of NH-54 in Assam was severely damaged by landslides, hill movement, slip failure and sinking. Given the seriousness of the problem, it has been decided to re-build the affected portion with a split 4-lane construction (2 lanes on the new alignment and 2 lanes along the existing alignment).
Chief Executive Member (CEM), N C Hills Autonomous Council Debolal Gorlosa attended the event. Gorlosa participated in the ‘Bhumipujan’ and offered prayers with the breaking of coconut for the success of the project.
Speaking on the occasion CEM Gorlosa appealed to the people of Dima Hasao to extend their positive support in completing the much-needed Construction of 4- laning road.
He urged people to step forward in a proactive manner to help this project get completed on time, which would undoubtedly have a significant good impact on Dima Hasao’s overall development as well as the development of surrounding states.
Kaushal Patel, Project Director of Dineshchandra R. Agarwal Infracon Private Limited sought support and blessings from all the people of Dima Hasao and said that this project was not of mere 4 lanes high way, it is the East-West corridor which will connect Porbandar to Silchar that is East and West corner of the country.
