Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today gave a strong message to those questioning the recruitment process in government departments, stating that even if one appointment to grade 3 and grade 4 posts is found to be irregular, his government will step down.
Addressing a gathering during the distribution of appointment letters to over 11,000 recruits into various departments in Guwahati, Chief Minister Sarma urged journalists to interview every successful candidate post the declaration of results and added that even if one person says that he has secured an appointment through recommendation, the entire cabinet will step down.
CM Sarma’s big statement comes at a time when the owner of a coaching institute, Victor Das, has created a controversy over the Grade 3, 4, recruitment through a series of claims not backed by any evidence.

Not only this, firm on his commitment to provide enough government jobs, CM Sarma said even the Hiamlayas can’t deter his government’s resolve to provide employment to 1 lakh youth.
Chief Minister Sarma today handed over appointment letters to 11,236 new recruits in various departments at a mega letter distribution ceremony in Guwahati’s Khanapara. Of these, a total of 4,717 appointment letters have been given in the education department.
Not just this, a total of 712 assistant professors in different colleges have also been handed their appointment letters.
